About This Product
V-Twin starter housing part for 1980 through 1988 FLT Touring and 1982 through 1988 FXR models. Replaces OEM 31497-83. Fits FLHTC, FLHTP, FXLR, and FXRP among others. This housing keeps the starter motor indexed to the primary. A damaged mount accelerates wear on the starter drive and ring gear. Fit this when the original is cracked or distorted. The housing takes a lot of torque during cranking.
