About This Product
V-Twin starter shaft gear. Replaces OEM 31485-65. Fits 1980 to 1988 FLT, 1982 to 1988 FXR, and 1987 to 1988 Softail. This gear meshes with the starter drive. Worn teeth cause grinding and slipping. Fit this when you have the primary apart. It handles the torque of kicking over a Big Twin. Inspect the teeth whenever the primary is open.
