About This Product
V-Twin starter gear lever replaces OEM 31491-79. It fits most electric start Dyna, FXR, Softail, Touring, and Trike models from 1965 to 1988. This lever transmits movement from the solenoid to the starter pinion. A worn lever causes poor starter engagement and can damage the ring gear. Check the lever for wear whenever you pull the primary or overhaul the starter motor. Fit it and torque the hardware to spec.
