About This Product
MCS idler gear stud for 1954 to 1978 K-model and XL Sportster. Replaces OEM 25787-57. This stud is the pivot for the timing chest idler gear. The gear bushing rides directly on this surface. Any wear or scoring here causes timing issues and mechanical failure. Inspect it closely when you have the timing chest apart. Replace it during a full rebuild. Do not reuse a scored stud.
