Samwel shifter gear retaining spring. Fits 1937 to 1973 45 inch Flathead models. Replaces OEM 33964-38 and 2242-38A. It holds the shifter gear in place and keeps the changes crisp. A broken spring lets the gear jump out or feel sloppy.
