Racing King 6 transmission: stronger components and installation needs
Developed by the Harley-Davidson Factory Race Team for the Mission King of the Baggers series, the Screamin’ Eagle Racing King 6 transmission is presented as an upgrade for gear engagement and durability. Harley-Davidson states 25% greater torque capacity than the Original Equipment transmission. That describes the transmission’s capacity, not an increase in engine output. The exact available product references are 36300037 and 36300041; select the application for the motorcycle.
The film shows heat-treated, shot-peened gears, back-cut engagement geometry and undercut shift lugs intended to improve engagement, reduce friction and enable smoother, quicker shifts. Upgraded bearings complete the assembly. An on-screen note explains that the blue coating on the gears and shafts is a manufacturing aid with no effect on operation or performance; a new unit may show slight discolouration when opened.
Installation requires the separate Racing Gasket Installation Kit 36300043, containing gaskets, O-rings, a main-drive seal and bearing, and an inner-primary bearing race. It is not included with either transmission. Confirm that kit’s availability and the exact motorcycle application with a dealer. The film also states that Screamin’ Eagle products are not available for sale or street legal in every country; verify the local position before purchase.
