Compare screen height, tint and mounting hardware

Start with the motorcycle and fairing, then compare the screen profile from your seated riding position. Height and tint are separate choices. A taller screen or a familiar Wind Splitter name does not establish that the brackets or shape fit another fairing generation.

Select your year before comparing the alternatives below. This grid can include screens using different bracket systems; retain any short- or tall-mount requirement shown for your exact model.

Short profiles: check the fairing as well as the colour

For the specified modern Batwing applications, 57400597 is 5-inch Dark Smoke and 57400725 is 5-inch red. Red 57400726 is a different 4.5-inch screen for the listed Road Glide-family applications. The red film’s two sizes are not interchangeable. Certain listed Batwing models require Short Windshield Mounting Kit 57400687; check the exact model list, particularly when changing from a taller original screen.

Eight inches, with a clear or light-smoke view

The 8-inch options are clear 57400600 and Light Smoke 57400601. Their larger profile is a different height choice from the 5-inch screens, with the same distinction between a clear and tinted surface. Harley-Davidson positions these screens for riders in its stated 5 ft 4 in to 5 ft 9 in range; your seat and riding posture also affect the view over the screen. The listed FLHX/FLHXSE and 2026 FLHXSTSE applications require Tall Windshield Mounting Kit 57400668.

Ten inches for the taller-screen option

Clear 57400602 and Light Smoke 57400603 are 10-inch screens. Harley-Davidson describes this profile for riders taller than 5 ft 9 in; that positioning is not a guarantee of the same airflow result for every rider. Check the seated sightline and the exact mounting requirements. The listed FLHX/FLHXSE and 2026 FLHXSTSE applications also require Tall Windshield Mounting Kit 57400668. Tint, screen height and bracket kit remain separate decisions.

About these products

Choosing the red Wind Splitter for your fairing

The red Wind Splitter combines a sweeping profile with extra height at the centre compared with a traditional low wind deflector. Its shape follows the fairing and inner dash, with airflow management and a distinctive appearance as the design goals. The film shows the sweeping profile, red tint and Harley-Davidson branding in close-up.

Hard-coated polycarbonate provides the screen’s structure, with a scratch-resistant protective layer over the material and tint. Harley-Davidson specifies a floating-bracket design for installation and script branding as a finishing detail. The current descriptions associate these red screens with the 2026 CVO Street Glide ST and CVO Road Glide ST.

There are two different screens: 57400725 is the 5-inch version for the listed Street Glide/Batwing applications; 57400726 is the 4.5-inch version for the listed Road Glide applications. The 5-inch screen covers specified 2023-on FLHXSE, 2024-on FLHX, 2025 FLHXU and named 2026-on Street Glide and Trike models. FLHXU, FLHLT, FLHLTSE, FLHXL and FLHXLSE additionally require Short Windshield Mounting Kit 57400687. The 4.5-inch screen covers specified 2023-on FLTRXSE, 2024-on FLTRX/FLTRXSTSE and 2026-on FLTRT/FLTRXL models. Choose by the exact fairing, model and year; the two sizes are separate product references.

Street Glide Wind Splitter screens: five choices and the mounting kit

The film presents five Wind Splitter screens for the batwing fairing introduced on the 2023 CVO Street Glide: a 5-inch dark-smoke screen and 8- and 10-inch screens in clear or light smoke. The swept profile follows the fairing and dashboard, adding height where the screen redirects air. Harley-Davidson describes computational airflow analysis and wind-tunnel testing intended to reduce helmet pressure, wind speed and noise. Better audibility from the motorcycle audio is an intended benefit of the reduced wind noise, rather than a promise that every sound will remain audible in every riding condition.

The 5-inch dark-smoke screen, 57400597, gives the darkest and lowest appearance of the range shown. Its raised profile changes the airflow compared with the original screen. The film’s practical guide is to keep the top edge just below your normal forward line of sight. Body proportions, riding posture and the fitted seat all affect that line, so rider height alone does not establish the right screen.

The 8-inch options are 57400600 in clear and 57400601 in light smoke. H-D recommends this height for riders around 5 ft 4 in to 5 ft 9 in, approximately 163–175 cm, and claims up to 50% less visor pressure than the stock screen for that rider group. A 5 ft 5 in rider demonstrates looking over the upper edge while the screen sends airflow above the helmet. Both finishes preserve the same screen shape; choose the tint as well as checking the view from your own riding position.

The 10-inch options are 57400602 in clear and 57400603 in light smoke. The film recommends these for riders taller than 5 ft 9 in and illustrates the fit with a 5 ft 11 in rider. H-D claims up to 25% less visor pressure than the stock screen for this taller group, with less helmet buffeting as the intended result. The 50% and 25% claims apply to different rider-height groups and should not be read as a direct performance ranking of the two screen heights.

All five use polycarbonate with a scratch-resistant protective layer and discreet Harley-Davidson branding. The film demonstrates the floating mounting brackets and identifies the separate Tall Windshield Mounting Kit, 57400668, for the 8- and 10-inch screens. Current fitment specifically requires that kit on FLHX and FLHXSE, and on 2026 FLHXSTSE. The current screen listings cover 2023-on FLHXSE, 2024-on FLHX, 2025-on FLHXU and listed 2026 FLHLT, FLHLTSE, FLHXL, FLHXLSE and FLHXSTSE models. The 5-inch screen instead requires Short Windshield Mounting Kit 57400687 on FLHXU and the listed 2026 FLHLT, FLHLTSE, FLHXL and FLHXLSE models. Check the exact screen and mounting requirement for the selected motorcycle; these products are not a blanket fit for earlier Street Glide fairings.
